For our citizenship is in heaven, from where we also wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is able even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21 WEB.
We have a large oak tree in our yard, and each year, a fresh batch of caterpillars is born into the world. For a few weeks, they crawl about as pitiful little helpless worms stuck in the tree. But eventually, they find a spot to call home, build a cocoon, and shut themselves off from the world. After a few weeks of being alone in the dark, a transformation occurs, and soon the air is filled with butterflies.
In our walk with the Lord, we usually start out excited, but difficult times do come. Rarely is this Christian walk that easy to do, but He is preparing us for something better. The word transform in this verse means to remodel. To take what is already there and make it new again. The Lord does not destroy what we are. He makes us better.
Let the Lord remodel you into something better. Don't give up when you are alone and it seems dark. It's just part of the process. If you give up now, you will miss the most glorious part of your life. Right when the caterpillar thought it was over, it became a butterfly.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to serve You through the dark times as well as the light. Please grant me the courage and grace to follow You through whatever I may face today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Amen and Amen, this I pray!!! The power of transformation just like the little caterpillars becoming beautiful butterflies, so are we being transformed through the precious blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and yet, we will live forever!!! WE will overcome by the blood of the Lamb, blessed be His name!!! "Rev. 12:11" π
Pastor's prayer: Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to serve You through the dark times as well as the light. Please grant me the courage and grace to follow You through whatever I may face today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
I am glad my sister was there a couple of nights ago when I called like she was there when I was in the tornado in early 2019. She has started going to church. She has always believed in God and has been to church often. I moved to Ruston, LA to live up the street from her. I immediately found a church to join. Just recently, she and her husband have found a church and one that has a Celebrate Recovery program. They both go, but it is primarily for her husband with alcohol problems. I have lifted her up and she has lifted me up since I have been here. Praise God she will be coming to see me Tuesday for an exciting outing! God is so, so good!
Very encouraging! The times in my life that I felt like a caterpillar when I was going through the worst events, crying in emotional and or physical pain, extreme stress ... those have been the times God did wonderous things in my life and sprouted my wings... going through those things made me stronger to fly ... it was a difficult and painful squeeze but I made it through each time... and I will make it through the things that have happened this past year as well... God always has my back (and my future)! Thank you Lord! Thank you Jesus! Thank you Pastor for writing these devotionals and giving us encouragement, reminders, and hope!
