While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. Then he said, "Behold, this evil is from Yahweh. Why should I wait for Yahweh any longer?" Elisha said, "Hear Yahweh's word. Yahweh says, 'Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour will be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.' " Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, "Behold, if Yahweh made windows in heaven, could this thing be?" 2 Kings 6:33-7:2 WEB.
Jehoram was the King of Israel when Samaria, the capital city, was besieged by Syria about 850 BC. Samaria was a great walled city, so the enemy's strategy was to surround it and prevent anyone from entering or leaving. This cut off all trade and their food supply. They intended to camp there until they starved the inhabitants into surrender.
A great famine spread through the city until people were eating each other. Women were eating their children. It was a very dark time for the people of Samaria, and the king began to blame God for their suffering. The book of Deuteronomy contains a section where God warned Israel about what would happen to them if they rejected Him.
"Because you didn't serve Yahweh your God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things; therefore you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh sends against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in lack of all things." Deuteronomy 28:47-48 WEB.
Finally, the King of Israel snapped and decided that if he could not kill God, he would kill the man of God. So he began searching for the prophet Elisha. When he finally found him, Elisha told him that food would be so plentiful in the city that it would cost pennies by the following day.
That night, God caused the enemy to hear horses and chariots, the sound of a great army approaching them. They thought that Samaria had hired the Egyptians and the Hittites to help them, so they fled and left all their supplies, food, and livestock behind. Then the people came out of the city and packed it all up for free. As Elisha had spoken, it all came to pass the following morning.
Your breakthrough is waiting near your breaking point. When it looks like you cannot go on and it becomes so dark, when you are ready to snap and let God have it with both barrels, you are so close to being delivered. When we come to the end of our rope, we will find Him there. So don't give up! It's always the darkest right before dawn.

I have had many breakthroughs since being called by God. The most recent one is being here for 5 years, and I have not been in a mental health hospital due to my bipolar illness. I have been stable (not thinking so at times).
This is not a nursing home, even though we do have staff who gives our medications and we have staff who helps us in other areas. This is assisted living. However, they have taught us to be independent as much as possible. Some here aren't as independent, but they do try.
I will be leading a group tomorrow about Inspirations. The following afternoon, I will lead a Bible study for women. and there are some other activities I would like to do when the activity director is not here on Tue., Thur., Sat. It helps to participate!!!
Amen and Amen!!! I keep on thinking "there is light at the end of the tunnel", and there is and always has been! When life and drastic situations get so dark and gloomy, and it seems there is no way out, and then all of a sudden there is the time again and again and all we can say is "it is GOD", HE always comes through especially when we look back and remember what HE has done and will do again and again!! Our hope has become a "living hope"! And, when we pass through the final tunnel, be it as dark as can be, we will see the light and we will be home at last!! Thank You Lord for that knowledge!!! πβ€οΈ
