For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you," says Yahweh Jeremiah 29:11–14 WEB.
When things begin to go smoothly in our lives and everything is working as it should. When your plans are coming together, and your prayers are being answered. It becomes easy to grow complacent. To just drift and let the current carry you where ever it may.
Of course, you still pray. You continue to go through the motions, but your whole heart is not in it. Your mind is always drifting somewhere else. You can begin to lose focus. Eventually, you drift off course just as a car would eventually drift off the road if you stop steering it. A Scribe once asked Jesus what the greatest commandment was, and Jesus told him this:
Which commandment is the greatest of all?" Jesus answered, "The greatest is: 'Hear, Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. The second is like this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:28-31 WEB.
Love God, and love others. The Lord wants to be a part of our life today, and He is just a prayer away. He welcomes us with His loving arms. Remember to spend some time with Him. Ask the Lord to make what is important to Him important to you. Intentionally seek out the Lord's presence as if you mean it. There is a great reward waiting for those who do. He promised us we would seek Him and find Him when we search Him with all of our hearts.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to seek Your face today. Please lead me into all that You have for me here. Help me see the world through Your eyes and make what is important to You important to me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
