I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now is come the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night. Revelation 12:10 WEB
In a United States supreme court case in 1932, Sorrells vs United States, a prohibition officer repeatedly tried to get a factory worker to buy him bootleg whiskey. When the man finally gave in and did, the officer arrested him for selling him illegal whiskey.
This was labeled 'Entrapment,' which is when the government persuades you to break a law that they created, and then tries to prosecute you for doing exactly what they wanted you to do.
The enemy will place a bad thought in your mind, and then immediately accuse you of wrongdoing: 'Look at you! And you call yourself a Christian.' Even though it was not your thought to begin with, he will try his best to make you believe that it was your idea, and then make you feel guilty over having it.
This is nothing but a crowd control tactic. If he can make you walk around all day with your head hanging down, feeling unworthy to even pray because of your bad thoughts, then he has successfully neutralized you. When you are too ashamed to speak to God, you are powerless and defenseless. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). If something will not leave your mind, then take it God in prayer, and take away satan's ammunition.
'Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need' (Hebrews 4:16).
Do not fall into entrapment. God is above all of this, He knows who is to blame, and his day is coming. Push these thoughts aside, hold your head up, stand up straight and walk as a child of God each day. I am loved, forgiven, redeemed, the Lord is my Shepherd.
Prayer: Heavenly Father I pray that You help me put on the helmet of salvation to guard my mind from attacks, help me renew my thought life and take on the mind of Christ. You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. With Your help, I will overcome, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
