Moses called the Israelites together right before they went into the promised land and told them to not be afraid, for the Lord who is in the midst of you, is a great and 'awesome' God.

The definition of Awesome: adjective

breathtaking, awe-inspiring, magnificent, wonderful, amazing, stunning, staggering, imposing, stirring, impressive; formidable, fearsome, dreaded; mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, excellent, marvelous; wondrous. Awesome is the opposite of unimpressive.

I love the word Awesome; it seems to be one of the few words that I know that can even come close to describing God and I try to reserve it just for that purpose. Can you use the same words to describe a movie actor that you would to describe the one that created the earth? If you measure everything as a ten out of ten, then you are left with a broken scale.

Moses was right for God had proved Himself Awesome time after time in their lives. He had sent plagues on Egypt until they released His people (Ex 13:15). He went before them as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night (Ex. 13:21). He parted the sea so that they could cross safely (Ex. 14:21). He fed them mana from heaven for forty years, and their clothing did not wear out (Neh. 9:21).

Those are the works of an Awesome God. Remember today that our Father is the breathtaking, mind-boggling, mind-blowing, jaw-dropping, Awesome God that created the universe, and He is well able to take care of you.

Prayer: Father, Awesome God of heaven and earth, I thank You for being there for me. Please walk with me this day, help me make the right decisions, guide me into all that You have for me. I put my trust in You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
