Contempt for the offering

Samuel 2:15-16: But even before the fat was burned, the servant of the priest would come and say to the man who was sacrificing, Give the priest some meat to roast; he won’t accept boiled meat from you, but only raw. If the man said to him, Let the fat be burned up first, and then take whatever you want, the servant would then answer, No hand it over now; if you don’t, I'll take it by force. This sin of the young men was very great in the Lord's sight, for they were treating the Lord's offering with contempt.

Jesus is our perfect offering. We no longer have to boil meat and wait for the fat to burn for the sacrifice. It has been done for us once and for all. We no longer have to be concerned with a religious ritual. Jesus is the final offering, and it is through Him we are forever blessed.
We see from scripture that these young men treated the offering with contempt. They came in with threats and were taking that which didn't belong to them. They were so caught up in themselves, that they took away from the sacrifice, and more importantly the offering before it was theirs.
How do we treat the final offering with contempt? We turn to our self-righteousness instead of Jesus'. You see Jesus paid the price for each and every one of us. His sacrifice covers all of our sins, all of our health, and all of the promises of God. His sacrifice gives us prosperity, success, food, clothing, and anything you desire. It can all be found in Jesus.
Galatians 5 tells us that when we try to be justified through the law, we are then obligated to obey the whole law! It is said that we become alienated from Christ; and that we have fallen away from grace. This scripture tells us that it is only through faith, and that faith through love that we are justified. We have to believe that Jesus is big enough even for our sins. If we do not, the sacrifice of Jesus, the offering of the Father is of no use to us! That is scary stuff. That is how we show contempt for the offering.
You are worthy to be justified through faith in Jesus. Some of us think that Jesus is good enough to save our friends, and our family because they are good people. We can think that we must carry our cross or our sins like a scarlet letter. I can tell you whether you're a good person or not is of no consequence. I'm not saying to be a bad person, but our justification is unequivocally Jesus Christ! Our blessing is not contingent on a boiling pot of meat. It is based on the truth of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Come out of the fear of not being good enough, and into the loving hands of the Offering of God our Father! If you have ever said, " I'm sick because I sinned." God is punishing me because I sinned. I am poor because I did something bad, then this is for you. You see, the punishment that we deserve was poured out on Jesus once and for all. If you want to see an explosion of healing, provision, and protection in your life, then accept the sacrifice of Jesus. Forgive yourself for all that you have done, and thank Jesus that He is mightier than anything you have done. Show faith through love for Jesus and be well in all things in Jesus' name. Amen.
