Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31'33 WEB.
One of the sweetest testimonies that I ever heard was from a missionary visiting our church. While flying out to the mission field on an airplane, she dug through her purse, trying to find a pen to make some notes with, but she couldn't find one. She was hungry because she hadn't had time to eat before the flight, and they didn't serve food on the plane. Normally she carried a pack of crackers with her for such a time, but that day she had none.
The missionary had brought along one extra bible to give away, and when the plane landed, she started looking for a native to give it to. She eventually found a woman she could communicate with and offered her the bible as a gift. The woman burst into tears and then explained that she had been praying for a bible for an entire year. The grateful woman then looked through her purse for some money to give, but she only found a pen, and a pack of crackers, which she gave to the missionary.
If it matters to you, it matters to God. He knows about the small things in your life that you wouldn't even pray about. When we get wrapped up in ourselves, we miss so much of what He has to offer. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). Place the Lord at the center of your life, and things like this will automatically begin to happen. He has the pen and the crackers waiting.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I seek Your face and a deeper relationship with You today. I know that You will take care of my needs and fulfill the desires of my heart. Lord, I put You first today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
