Don't lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don't destroy his resting-place: For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; But the wicked are overthrown by calamity. Proverbs 24:15 WEB
Your journey ends when you will no longer get up. Many times in my life, I began to feel that I had let God down, made the wrong decision, and wrecked His plan for my life. Then when I finally fell on my face before God, repented, and poured out my heart to the Lord in prayer, He would respond: 'Ok, now pull yourself together and let's get back to work.'
God did not dwell on my past sins or guilt. I simply repented and was moving forward again. He knows that our life is but a breath here, and He wants to make the most of it. We cannot change the past. We can only learn from it, and try to do better next time. So when you stumble, say you're sorry, repent, turn away from the bad, and move forward with your life.
When I begin to feel like I have lost my way, and I don't know where to turn. I go into a room, shut the door, and lay on my face in prayer until His presence comes. It may take minutes or a couple of hours, but eventually a rhema (spoken) word comes and it brings new direction and a fresh vision, for a word from God changes everything.
There is no replacement for spending quiet time in prayer and listening, for He said 'My sheep hear My voice.' I know there is never enough time, but everyone has twenty-four hours in their day and we spend it on what we think is important. Give God a couple of them and you will not regret it. Try Facetime, you may like it.
God has such a beautiful plan for your life, but we all stumble at some point along the way. All of us do. When we do, God waits patiently for us to get back up. If you are down today know that God is waiting for you to take His hand once again. When you do, He will pull you back up to your feet and restore the hope in your life.
Prayer: Heavenly Father please draw me to You. Ignite a desire inside of me to seek Your face like never before. Cover me with Your presence and peace, give me a fresh vision today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
